日本職棒人氣球隊讀賣巨人又從古巴進貨了！這回巨人軍叫的貨，是年紀輕輕、飆出157公里火球的右投Hector Mendoza。

20歲的Mendoza，身高190公分，除了快速球之外，武器還有滑球、曲球、變速球。2013-14球季在古巴聯賽擔任守護神，戰績6勝4敗13救援成功、防禦率2.35。

Mendoza青棒時期多次入選古巴國家隊，國際賽經驗豐富。目前他還是古巴體育大學學生，但為了到日本打球，準備休學。

自從古巴球員解禁之後，巨人軍先找來「國寶」Frederich Cepeda，現在又找來Mendoza，加上先前叛逃的Leslie Anderson，陣中有不少古巴球員。但Cepeda打擊率僅0.171，下放二軍，三位古巴球員想在一軍團圓，可能還得一段時間。
