美忠實盟邦澳洲 高度警戒恐攻

（中央社雪梨2014年12月15日綜合外電報導）澳洲最大城市雪梨今天發生武裝男子挾持人質事件，外界擔憂可能是聖戰士發動攻擊。澳洲是美國的忠實友邦，對自中東戰場返國的本國好戰分子可能發動攻擊，保持高度警戒。

澳洲總理艾波特（Tony Abbott）早已警告澳洲可能是好戰分子計畫攻擊目標，他說，跡象顯示這起人質事件是出於政治動機。

他在首都坎培拉對記者說：「這起事件令人非常不安。我可理解澳洲人民的擔憂和焦慮。」

澳洲堅定支持美國擴大在敘利亞和伊拉克打擊伊斯蘭國（IS）的行動，一年多來，澳洲對可能遭受伊斯蘭主義者攻擊的憂慮也與日俱增，安全機構9月將全國恐怖攻擊的警戒層級提升到「高度」。

新南威爾斯（NSW）警政廳長席畢恩（AndrewScipione）今天對記者說：「我們已提高到可能遭受恐怖攻擊的警戒層級。」

伊斯蘭國發言人9月敦促澳洲等西方國家的支持者，在他們的國家攻擊平民或軍方人員。

今天在雪梨咖啡館挾持人質的武裝男子，強迫人質展示一面伊斯蘭國旗幟，外界擔憂這是聖戰士發動攻擊。
