旅美球員王躍霖上周遭小熊隊釋出，經紀人張家銘已證實了這個消息，未來王躍霖要何去何從，是否參加中華職棒的季中選秀，值得觀察。

王躍霖是釀酒人隊台灣左投王維中的哥哥，2009年與小熊隊簽約，2013年及2014年都在小熊高階1A球隊度過，去年因為受傷表現浮浮沈沈，季後接受中華隊徵召參加仁川亞運，表現也不盡理想。

王躍霖近年一直是中華隊的主力投手，曾參加2011年世界盃棒球賽，2013年經典賽（WBC）、天津東亞運以及2014年的仁川亞運，在天津東亞運預賽對日本之戰表現精采，是他生涯的代表作。

小熊隊官方消息也公布了此項訊息，『Chicago Cubs--Released: RHP Josh Davis, RHP Zak Hermans, RHP Yao-Lin Wang, LHP Alberto Diaz, LHP Nathan Dorris, C Lance Rymel, C Antonio Valerio』，由於是王躍霖是列管球員，因此將先到國訓中心報到。
